Lansdale, PA - Dd Communications, Inc and Madora Entertainment are proud to announce a new and exciting program available Fall 2k, " THE HILIARIOUS RELIGIOUS COMEDY TOUR". The tour will feature Christian comedians along with inspirational musical from a solist, band or choir.
When you mention the word comedian, there are many famous names that come to mind. There is Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy. After them, the door was opened for a new group Sinbad, Chris Tucker, Martin Lawrence and others. As comedy has grown it has also become dirtier. Sex and profanity in today’s comedy has gone to the extreme.
Dd Communication’s "The Black Comedy Tour", the most successful tour in the country, has addressed this issue by providing a ratings system that allows people to know exactly what kind of show they are booking or attending. "Of all the ratings, religious and PG 13 are the most requested by the administrators and R is the most requested by the students. " I have felt for a long time that if the students where to see clean comedy, they would enjoy it just as much as the adult humor. So we decided to highlight our religious programming and give it the platform it deserves.”
Madora Entertainment’s Rodney Johnson said the inspiration came to him last year during a phone conversation. "In October of 1999 I had a long conversation with a comedian friend. We talked about work and what we both thought was missing from the comedy circuit. We wanted to be apart of a program designed for the whole family." The main focus was to allow “Church” people an opportunity to enjoy a live comedy show and music without the profanity or sexual content. Just good clean humor!
After sharing this insight with a number of other comedians, Rodney was amazed at the numbers who have strong religious backgrounds and had similar desires to work clean. Rodney called Brian to talk about the idea and thus the tour was born. The tour will have 2 divisions, a church organization division and a college/corporate division. The church division will begin this summer. Dates have been confirmed in 14 cities. The college division will begin in August at several colleges and universities across the country.
"This event will be a chance for people to enjoy a night out with family and friends," Rodney said. Rodney and his Christian comedian friends are convinced that with God as the head and the support of the churches in the communities, the tour will be a success.
